WHAT’S THE PROCESS? HOW DO I GET FROM THIS WEBSITE TO OUR FIRST SESSION?
Your first step is to click the “Schedule Free Consult” button above. There, you can choose a time for a free 20-minute phone consultation. During that conversation, we will discuss what you’re looking for in counseling and I will tell you a bit about my practice. Insurance and scheduling will be addressed, and we may set up an initial session.
I’VE NEVER DONE THERAPY BEFORE. WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
In some ways, it’s pretty simple. We talk about current concerns, any struggles you might have and what you would like to change. My goal is to help you through the hard stuff as gently as possible and support you in creating the life you want. During our sessions, I will make you feel comfortable, supported, and understood, knowing that you will not be judged. This is your time to feel heard and seen and say what you need to say.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO Blue. There are a number of different BCBS plans, so I recommend double checking your card to be sure it specifically states “HMO Blue”. If you don’t have BCBS HMO Blue, you may have out-of-network benefits. If so, I can provide you with a receipt to use for reimbursement. I know insurance is confusing; I can walk you through this process if you are unsure about what any of this means. I accept HSA (Health Savings Account) cards.


DO YOU DO COUPLES COUNSELING? DO YOU WORK WITH KIDS AND TEENS?
I do not work with couples, kids, or teens. If that’s what you are looking for, I recommend you check out psychologytoday.com, where you can narrow down your search to include your insurance and what kind of counseling you are specifically looking for. It’s a great resource!
